Many accidents involving forklift trucks often result in serious injuries or sometimes even death. This is evident from the number of accident reports about accidents involving forklift trucks that are received by the inspection. Every year, around 10,000 new forklift trucks are purchased in Belgium, of which 30 to 40% are used part of the day. It is estimated that there are just as many employees who work regularly or occasionally as forklift truck operators for a large part of the day. Industry, trade and transport are the sectors where the most forklift trucks are operational and the most accidents occur. A diploma does not remove all dangers, but it does reduce them!
